The club stand was filling out nicely.
We were honoured to have our VIP guest,
Barry Doughty, who drove "Tail End Charlie"
in the West East Expedition.
FIELD CINEMA
Our cinema is run from a Honda 'silentt' generator,
powering a video projector and 'ghetto blaster',
sadly it runs on petrol and, erm... run out.
Thanks to Darren "dirty petrol" Parsons, we spent
some time having to clean and flush the generator
then trying to syphon, with some near success, some
clean petrol from both Alasdairs and my truck...
Soon back up and running,
left pic, thanks Darren :-)
Grumble by night...
At 2am I was awoken by far off thunder and lightening,
which was just as well as it gave me a chance to close the hatch
10 minutes later the sky opened with the thunderstorm from hell.
Grahams brother had decided to sleep in our 12x12 exmilitary tent
used for our field cinema. He'd placed his bed directly under
the worst leak the tent could have and woke to find his mobile phone
floating next to him.
We'd invented a new facet to our stand - an indoor swimming pool...
By morning things had cleared up and the sun shone, as
it always does for the Marque Day Cavalcade from Land Rover
A few pics from the Cavalcade
Pics taken from the roof of the museum, showing without
any doubt, that we had the best club display?
No, not so as it happens, more of my thoughts on this later...
