This is a 1977 landrover 101,
register 1999, I bought this car in 1999 unissued from the
military, 5k klics and still in waxed paper, it was a brand
new car with exercise miles only. For those who don’t know
they have a V8 3500cc engine and go like the clappers. I had
the car stripped down, high ratio gears, fitted an overdrive,
a regular winch ( the right one off the gearbox) you can winch
from the front or rear of the car, power steering, had wheels
made to fit the hubs so i could fit those wonderful tires. It
has the nato hitch. The body was rebuilt with an aluminium
skin (not a diy job) filled with sound deadening, remodeld the
front end as you can see. Had the roll cage made and its
powder coated, (came in 4 pieces). A cage fitted to the rear
for safety, fitted a full dash panel, door liners, padded
steering wheel, fitted a full tank communicator with head
sets. Had the body painted twin pack and it washes like glass.
Had a black tilt made with side panels (new one just gone on).
The whole interior fully upholstered, thick carpet made to
take out to clean, 15 seats and squabs come out, the rear in
rubber lined. Cost in all 24K pounds and there ain’t nothing
like this in the world. It dives like a big kids toy, quiet
and fast, this is the ultimate off roader and it pulls like
nothing else. My children have left home now and I haven’t
used it for 9 months, its sad but it should go to a new home.
Someone is going to have a ball with it. The good news is that
even now the genuine mileage is only 22900 kilometres. No
rust, no stone chips its like new. Its never been in the mud.
